Thoughts of a Debut Author
This is what i felt at the beginning of my book launch. Thank god my book is going great as it has reached top 100 best selling novels in India and more about to come but lemme scoop you what my mind was saying to me have fun
''Jeez! you look so new here though you are trying hard to grow my audience and be as simple as possible. You dont think much about promotion of the book or the way you are going to handle it while writing. You think your book is very unique and gonna touch people heart with its beauty (Yeah it obviously is) you seriously didnt give thought about the way you gonna promote your work. Finally after day and night of your hardwork the book finally comes out and you be like "OK!!!!! What now!!" and when you enter in t o the promotion field everything looks quite opposite to the things you figure out previously. You realize you too are a person who has to stand in line to achieve what you want and the road map you laid while writing the book, you realize you forgot to include the pot holes you have to fall in, the thorns you step on (similar feelings soz you aint any famous) You start to think you are an average guy with cute smile and a spark of talent. But success is not for everyone (practically speaking) your faith shakes at once
But... after a while you realize two things
1 WHEN YOU ARE ABOUT TO QUIT REMEMBER WHY YOU STARTED
2 what Bob Marley once said YOU NEVER KNOW HOW STRONG YOU ARE UNTIL BEING STRONG IS THE ONLY CHOICE YOU HAVE LEFT
Thats it, you keep going, you keep doing what once upon a time you dreamed of. Though there is a fear in a corner of your heart you wont let it spread, indeed you develop smiling instead and keep hope. Why? Because your heart says so. If your work is unique the readers will definately like it, definaately share it and what not a person does when he is really inspired by something. All you have to do is 'do your thing and dont think too much' Right things fall at right place at right time, what is important is you did your part or not and if the answer is YES then your living your dream
